The Pierotti family story
Mattress Crafters starts with Frank Pierotti, who came to Australia from Tuscany after the Second World War, worked his way across the country and in 1963 opened Caesars, a small furniture and bedding store in country New South Wales with the family name above the door.
Frank spent the decades that followed learning what Australians actually need from a bed, and that knowledge passed to his son Paul, who grew up in the store and went on to build Mattress Crafters with it, so the family's mattresses could be sold direct without a showroom or a salesperson's commission built into the price.
That's three generations and more than 60 years of the Pierotti family in the mattress business, and it's why the money goes into the mattress instead of a sale calendar, with the same price on Black Friday as you see today.
